The last two days I had been watching tutorials on youtube about vectors, creating flat characters and environments on Adobe Illustrator. What lead to me wanting to watch these was that I wanted to create some graphic designs on Illustrator. I thought it would be more helpful for me to learn some tools and skills to develop nice artwork for whatever like for logos, character and game design. I can’t just keep doing my own thing just creating random drawings on photoshop or medibang paint (a free drawing application). I need to build up my portfolio. I hadn’t been doing much with any game related work (because major changes happened and silently was replaced ahehe).
I did a few of designs after watching theses tutorials. It was actually easier than excepted. However, I’m still practicing, trying out to play with shapes and see what I can make. I’ll be creating characters first till I do like environment then into doing UI.
Here are 2 samples I did:
I have been job hunting for a while now. Not much successful, but I’m still trying. Maybe, I’m applying for the wrong places (retail) with my dull personality. I do give a more duller personality and speech compared to everyone else in the room. Yeah, majority of them were group interviews. It has pro and cons about it but mostly, you’re competing people in the room and you can tell, well from what I seen trying to impress the managers. For me, no matter what, I can’t bring myself to bring that ‘bubbly’ and ‘outgoing’ personality, specially on the first impression. Well from what my friend said; Fake it till you make it (Again, can’t bring myself to do that).
So, I thought I could just learn another skill that might open more doors for me and probably will give me another upper chance in landing a position. The result was…doing a barista course. Yeah, I think it would be fun to do and a cool skill to have. Plus, I like drinking coffee, it would be interesting to learn more about. Additionally, it’s going to be more fun since I’m doing along with a friend and her sister.
Here’s a illustration for this post. Something related to this post
Happy new year to everyone!
To be honest, it feels the same besides that when you write the date you kind of need to change from 2016 to 2017, which it’s a habit probably everyone needs to change. Reminded me of a conversation with a friend over the phone saying about ‘Oh it happened last week’ then my friend said ‘You mean last year’ and laughed about that.
Any new year resolution for me? Not really. I don’t make those resolutions as I know that it won’t last long. But I do make smaller goals that’s easier to achieve…Wait does this contradict what I said? Strongly, I consider making new years resolution something bigger in goals. Still, everyone has different views what is something big. So, okay I made a resolution, which is read more books. The last three days, I finally read one of the books I’ve been looking forward to. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. I got to say, I enjoyed it and the ending was satisfying to me yet I wanted more from it. This lead me wanting to read more books. I do have two books I got before Cruel Beauty that I still hadn’t read.
How spent my new year eve day?…The same thing I did on Christmas, by myself. I thought I was having deja vu. Meh, it’s alright. I slept before the new year arrived. Also, another thing is to become more active on this blog.
